Bears fall to Walla Walla in Game 1
Bears Can’t Comeback Against Sweets
The Highline Bears fell to the Walla Walla Sweets in their matchup on Tuesday, dropping the road trip opener 0-4. The Sweets took an early lead, bringing in two runs off of two hits in the bottom of the first. Armond Swanson III responded with a single to lead off the second inning for the first Bears hit of the game, but was ultimately stranded on second.
Pitching between Cameron Jenkins, Mason Harris, and Jarrett Hite would hold the Sweets off the board until the eighth inning, where they would bring in two runs off a single, a hit by pitch, and a walk. Kealan Martin worked to get the ball rolling for the Bears in the fourth inning, advancing to first off a single. Cody Simmons would round off the list of Bears hits, marking a single in the top of the ninth. Both were left stranded, with the Bears struggling to capitalize on either hit.
The Bears will look ahead to Wednesday evening, where they will again face the Walla Walla Sweets.
